Christmas brings with it special traditions. Cookies, candies, trees, presents, and for many, the music and magic of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece; The Nutcracker. I was able to review The Nutcracker Music Game for Children.

This game has won
Parents’ Choice Gold Award, NAPPA Gold Award, and the Parenting Seal of Approval.

I feel like this is a game that can grow with children. It utlizes the scaffolding technique of building on what children know.

There are several listening exercises where kids match songs together.  This is a great exercise for future music classes in school when students have to identify songs within 30 seconds.

I really liked the part of the game where the student identifies the different musical instruments used in a part of a song. As well as identifying the different instruments used within the orchestra. I have studied music for years, and there were parts of this that stumped me!

Overall this game is a fun way to entertain and educate. It is so unfortunate that in many cases art and music classes get cut from public education. This game is a fun and cost effective way to help supplement art within a child’s life, whether used in a classroom homeschool or just for fun.

We are all trying to do Christmas and other Holidays on a dime these days, and the creators of the game were kind enough to offer my gentle readers a 40% discount.
