Book Review- Riley Mae

Life is rapidly changing for pre-teen shoe spokesperson Riley Mae. After the last photo shoot and trek up the Half-Dome in Yosemite, Riley Mae and her Swiftriver friends find themselves in Northwest Montana, the perfect backdrop for a river sandal campaign. The first problem is a plane malfunction. Then the rigorous raft training for the “Ready Eddy” river sandal campaign brings more bumps and bruises. And given that she is in Montana for a shoe campaign instead of back home with her friends, Riley thinks life can’t get much worse. But then she meets Sunday, a 10 year-old boy from Kenya, who wrestles fish, battles bears, and tackles leukemia. And Riley soon learns that life is as unpredictable as the raging waters, which, if she is not careful, will sweep her away and into the hands of the enemy – who is even closer than she thinks.

This is the second book of the Good News Shoes book series. I picked this title to review because I thought it sounded fun and different and it did not disappoint me. I found it to be clever fresh and original. I truly enjoyed this book.  This was the second book in the series but that was not a problem of being able to enjoy Riley Mae’s adventures. I would buy this for my students and nieces. This book had a great pace and was a really fun and easy read.  Two thumbs up!

With a name that speaks for itself, Food Should Taste Good® chips are made from high quality ingredients. All chip varieties are gluten free, cholesterol free, have zero grams trans fats. They are also certified Kosher. Plus, many varieties are certified vegan.
Made from wholesome ingredients, Food Should Taste Good® chips have been recognized with over 40 awards and are created with real ingredients, zero trans fats, and no cholesterol. Beyond their award winning taste, these chips are certified gluten free and Kosher, and are the perfect anytime snack.
I have been really blown away by these chips. They are so delicious and addictive. They are economical and available throughout the United States including Wal-Mart! They arrived quickly and well packaged on my doorstep!
I love that some of the bags came with suggestions, like pairing the chocolate tortilla chips with peanut butter. That may be obvious to some but I never would’ve thought of that!
My favorate were the chocolate tortilla chips. They are very mild and not super sweet; they just have a hint of dark chocolate and with a bit of salt.

The lime were very good as well. My family loves lime flavored rice and chicken and these were definitely a favorite.   These would be a great thing to try with a favorite cheese, like my personal favorite, Velveeta white queso

I LOVE sweet potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes pretty much any kind of sweet potatoes, so I loved the sweet potato chips. The texture of these was more like a regular potato chip instead of the fabulous tortilla chips.

olive_Main My gluten-free sister took these olive chips to work with her and they didn’t last long.

This is a company I am happy to support.

For my review, I got Chiffon, a lovely soft warm lavender color. I would have never chosen it for myself but I loved it on my nails.
It was so different, and fresh and spring-like.
The color went on very nicely and dried pretty quickly. It was really impressed by this colors staying power. It didn’t chip or smudge as soon as other polishes.
I will definitely be wearing it like crazy this season, especially since it is perfect for Easter.

I was very pleased with Color Me Monthly!

I really loved this makeup. It was soft silky. I have pretty sensitive skin so I have to be pretty careful on what makeup and skincare I use.
I was so excited to be able to review three colors. It was so hard to choose just three because they were all SO pretty and elegant.
I am almost always in a hurry to do my makeup and I can never seem to find an applicator, so Iove an eyeshadow I can put on quickly with my fingertips!
The first color I tried on was Ambre. Some of you might remember my somewhat failed attempt with Cinna from the Hunger Game series gold eyeliner. Since that fiasco, I’ve searched for gold eye shadows and products that look good on me. I really liked this color., it was gold and green prismatic effect.

It wasn’t too long before I had to get my hands on hot chocolate.
Neutral Eyeshadow
Of the ones I have tested, hot chocolate was probably my very favorite. It is pretty yet subtle and versitle. I’m crazy for natural looking makeups and devour neutral colors.

Purple is one of my favorite colors and I wear it all time. So I had to try this lovely shade of purple called Acai. It is so warm and feminine and pretty!

My Mama and Me: Rhyming Devotions for You and Your Child

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

With Easter coming up, it is easy to get wrapped up in candy and colored eggs and some parents wonder how they can incorporate the reason they might celebrate Easter, the Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.  I was really excited to be able to review this lovely book. This is a text meant to be used as a tool for teaching the writings of Christianity, as in text from the Holy Bible.  This is such a sweet little book. It is basically a children’s first Bible. I gave it to a dear friend for her son’s birthday, because she reads to her son every night and she was getting a little tired of reading the same books over and over. While this is too long to read in one sitting for most kids, it is a great way to introduce the teachings of the Holy Bible to children.

The author also includes activities within the book as well as verses and rhymes. This is a book a parent can use for many years

I loved the illustrations, they are some of my favorite I have ever seen in a children’s book.

You can get this book on Amazon.
