Review- Lens circle.com

I am reviewing the Magic series colored circle lenses from LensCircle.com. I received this product free from lenscircle.com. (http://www.lenscircle.com/magic_circle_lens_black_2_color_contacts.html )

My package from Lenscircle.com arrived quickly and was packaged safely in bubble wrap. I was really impressed with the condition they arrived in, they also included instructions on how to open the lenses, which may not sound like much, but trust me, when you don’t have those directions and you cut your finger on the metal wrapper, you definitely become grateful for those instructions. They also came with a coupon code and a cute fuzzy bag.
I was initially hoping for a more black-out effect, however the enlarging effect achieved was amazing. I love this lens for when you want a change to your eyes that isn’t as dramatic as a color change might be but still makes and impact. I don’t know if I would wear these as a cosplay, but they make a fantastic way to jazz up my normal eyes. I really liked the way they showed up in the photographs.
Comfort wise, they weren’t quite as comfortable as other lenses I have worn before. I knew they were there, but they weren’t painful.

Review-Wonderland Wigs

IMG_5561h

As much as I love pretty hair, I am no hairstylist, I can’t get it to grow, I definitely don’t have the money for professional styling and expensive extensions. So for me, wigs are a great alternative. Which is why I was so excited to work with Wonderland Wigs.
I will be reviewing Fleur. Fleur is a wig full of character. She is quite the lady, sassy yet classy.
She is purple with black interspersed throughout. With a punk inspired layered cut. Fleur feels and acts like human hair and I can’t get over how much I love the cut on her!
Some gentle readers may be wondering why on Earth someone would want a purple wig, even a beautiful purple wig like Fluer. I know that might be strange, but there are great reasons. First of all, I love cosplay and there is at least one character I want to cosplay with purple hair!
There are other, more practical reasons to invest in fun colored wigs. Some time back my best friend had a hiatus of unemployment. She had some stress and decided given that she was not finding employment; she thought it would be fun to dye her hair purple temporarily.
Well a few days after we dyed her hair (yes, I helped!) as luck would have it, she was called in for a job interview. So we had to do a quick cover up job and dye her hair black. This isn’t ideal as it can really hurt the condition of your hair.
How many of us want to try fun and crazy colors from time to time? How many of us can’t because we live in the real world? So, one way to have fun with different colors while still maintaining our current day to day look is to invest in wigs, half wigs and extensions. Wonderland wigs is a great place to check out for such investments.

Wonderland Wigs have wigs, ¾ wigs, hair extensions, hair buns, hair pieces and even false eyelashes.
They have a fun line of celebrity wigs with looks inspired by Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Posh. They even have a wig inspired by my girl crush, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. These are looks that can cost hundreds to achieve. You can get them for about thirty bucks at Wonderland wigs!

Review- When Mockingbirds Sing

When-mockingbirds-sing

This is a watercolor of a story about  Leah, a child who is socially distant from her peers because of a speech impediment. Leah begins to paint pictures that become reality, which she attributes to the friendship of and invisible friend called the Rainbow Man.

This book is the perfect companion for a cool rainy day, a fireplace, a cup of coffee and a cat. It is beautifully written and complex. Billy Coffey is a masterful storyteller and gifted writer.

Review: One with Nature

(I received the following products for free in exchange for an honest review)

Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. -Ezekiel 47:8

Not long ago I was watching television and became engrossed in a documentary that centered around  what we now call the Dead Sea.

The unique concentration of the Dead Sea waters has long been known to have medicinal value.

Historical figures including Aristotle, and Cleopatra understood this secret and it has been passed down to us today.

One with Nature products are a great way to incorporate the healing properties of the Dead Sea into your own beauty regimine. Natural and healing ingredients like Dead sea salt and Shea butter, sage and lavender.

shea-lotion

With the soothing scent of warm vanilla essential oils, this lotion is packed with Dead Sea minerals, muds, salts and shea butter.I really liked this lotion. It smells softly of earthy vanilla, which I like, but if you’re used to lotions packed with mineral oils and artificial floral scents, it may be strange at first.  After a few applications, you will be sure to like it.  It leaves your skin feeling very clean and fresh and not greasy at all.

mini-rose-petal-small

The rose petal soap was a huge hit with my best friend, I had it in my bathroom and she fell in love with the scent and feel of it. She is a vet tech and washes her hands so much that it sometimes leaves her skin feeling cracked and rough.

My favorite was the mud soap.  I think everyone should get one and use it to help unwind and take care of your skin.

mini-lavender-small

My second favorite was the lavender soap. I am wild about anything lavender and this soap was no exception. It smells fantastic, and leaves your skin feeling clean and fragrant, there are lavender buds inside that help exfoliate. I have it in my bathroom an every time I walk by it I get a wiff and it smells so clean and nice.

I also received a sample of the shea butter soap, with argan oil. I used to tutor a young woman from Jordan who swore by Argan oil. She was right! Agan oil with shea butter is an unbeatable combination.

The travel sizes are perfect for luxurious skin care while traveling.  I think they would also make an amzing gift. Like an office gift with a card that says “Spread Joy Not Germs this Holiday Season!”

Overall I highly recommend One With Nature to anyone who wants to incorporate natural products into their lifestyle.

Review- Build a Bear

buildabear(I received a free product in exchange for an honest review)

When I was 13 my family took me to the Mall of America, (you know you are a teenager now, you hang out at the mall. Cute right?) which is where I first heard of Build-A-Bear. Of course, I got a dark brown stuffed bear in a red velvet dress. I named her Hannah and yes I still have her!
Since then, Build a bear has become a household name and is adding new fun characters all of the time. If you aren’t familiar with Build A Bear, I shall tell you!
At Build-A-Bear Workshop®, our mission is to bring the Teddy Bear to life. An American icon, the Teddy Bear brings to mind warm thoughts about our childhood, about friendship, about trust and comfort, and also about love.
So what does that mean? Well, you chose your toy, you stuff it to how soft you want it, and you customize it however you want. We have one in my house dressed in Army BDU’s ( a mother’s day gift from my brother while he was in Afghanistan.)
Build a bear is more than just bears too! They have ponies, bunnies, and cats!
It was this reason and more that I was so excited to be able to work with Build a Bear for this review.
I will be reviewing Jazzy Frog. The photo on the website didn’t do Mr. Jazzy Frog justice. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled him out of the classic build a bear gift box.

Jazzy is bright green and cute as can be. My favorite thing about him is how very soft he is. He is also fuzzy and he feels amazing to hug and cuddle. I have to admit, the day I got Jazzy Frog, I was having a pretty awful day and I happened to be holding him as I was talking to someone about my bad day, and I found myself squeezing Jazzy Frog to my chest. Build a bear is cheaper than therapy!

Book Review- Spark

This is a review of Spark by Jason Jaggard which I received free from the publisher.
I have to say I was a little disappointed in this book. This book was fine. I felt like the author was supporting a thesis that he never clearly stated. There are times when I felt the author kind of dragged on a bit, sometimes I felt that it was a constant train of thought, like several journal entries. That read only as snippets instead of a whole essay. That is a symptom of the younger generations’ social media and internet exposure. They think in terms of Facebook updates and blog entries instead of a well formed article. The thing I found most helpful was the story of a young woman who dreamed of training Olympic athletes and through a risk was granted an opportunity to start on her journey.
Many colleges these days are requiring that students take a class like “First Year Seminar” or ‘Shaping the Human Condition” of other such thing to help them adjust to a higher education and make the most of their opportunities. I feel this would be a nice text for such a college class
